Anticipating Weather Changes, KAI Daop 2 Bandung Routinely Conducts Cross Checks

One of the efforts that is routinely carried out is regular inspection and inspection of railway crossings throughout the Daop 2 Bandung working area.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, said that this traffic inspection was part of the company’s preventive steps in ensuring that all railway infrastructure remains in a safe condition, especially at vulnerable points such as areas with high slopes, cliffs, bridges, as well as locations that have the potential for flooding or landslides.

“KAI Daop 2 Bandung routinely carries out patrols and traffic checks both day and night. The aim is to ensure that the condition of the tracks, bridges and embankments remains stable, as well as ensuring that there are no disturbances that could endanger train travel amidst extreme weather changes,” said Kuswardojo.

This step is also a form of monitoring and evaluation of the readiness of personnel in the field.

Apart from that, another preventive step taken by KAI Daop 2 Bandung is to alert post officers and material equipment on standby (AMUS) at several strategic points to speed up handling if there is disruption to train travel due to extreme weather such as puddles of water, landslides or fallen trees around the rail line.

“Safety is the main priority in train operations. With the preparedness of officers and equipment, we are committed to ensuring that all train journeys in the Daop 2 Bandung area remain safe, smooth and reach their destination safely,” added Kuswardojo.
