PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) continues to strengthen the national distribution network through the development of multimodal services. Especially in the central region, KAI Logistik operates the latest land distribution routes Semarang – Wonosobo – Kroya, which is able to speed up the delivery of goods with the estimated travel time of only 1-2 days.
This route passes a number of strategic points such as Ungaran, Bergas, Secang, Temanggung, Wonosobo, Banjarnegara, Purwokerto, Maos, to Kroya. The presence of the new distribution channel not only expands the reach of shipping, but also strengthens connectivity between the north and southern routes, especially through these cities and presents the speed and accuracy of distribution for customers, especially for Kalog Express services.
“The unavailability of railroad tracks in the Semarang – Kroya via Wonosobo encourages us to optimize services through land modes. This is in line with KAI Logistik’s commitment in presenting adaptive multimodal solutions and according to customer needs,” said Sasongko Budiyanto, Manager of Kai Logistik.
In addition to the opening of the new land route, Kai Logistik also strengthened services through the presence of additional service points in 2025. Some new service points that have been operating include Bergas, Secang, Temanggung, Wonosobo, Sigaluh, Banjarnegara, and Somagede. This expansion is expected to make it easier for the public and business actors to access logistics services that are fast, reliable, and integrated.
“The strengthening of the network in the middle region also brings direct benefits to the surrounding community. The community and small and medium businesses now have easier access to send or receive goods at more competitive costs. Agricultural commodities and local products from the Wonosobo, Temanggung, to Banjarnegara regions can get faster to big cities so as to increase the selling value and competitiveness of regional products,” Sasongko continued.
More than that, KAI Logistik also launched the Kalog Express Partnership Program as an entrepreneurial pillar to encourage community participation who want to start a business in the logistics field. Through this partnership, the community can be part of the KAI Logistik distribution network while developing entrepreneurial potential in its area. With the increasing number of Kalog Express partners, new employment opportunities are also open and the creation of productive economic activity that can move the wheels of the local economy throughout this distribution channel.
“With this step, Kai Logistik confirms its commitment as a multimodal business entity that not only supports the smooth running of the national supply chain, but also has a significant positive impact on the economic growth of the people in the central region of Indonesia,” concluded Sasongko.
