JAKARTA, December 2025 – Towards Mother’s Day which is celebrated every 22 December, Siloam International Hospitals continues to realize its commitment to providing quality services to pregnant women by providing a feeling of safety and comfort during pregnancy until delivery. The pregnancy period, from the first trimester to postpartum, is a crucial period that requires extra attention, both in terms of medical safety and emotional support. Pregnant women also need a comfortable delivery process, starting from care, doctor visits for the first pregnancy check-up (Antenatal Care/ANC), to the postpartum recovery stage.
To ensure the effectiveness of care for pregnant women, Siloam International Hospitals, through 16 Siloam hospitals spread across various regions in Indonesia, launched the ‘Mother’s Friend’ Program simultaneously on Wednesday (10/12/2025). This program is aimed at Siloam pregnant women and is integrated with pregnancy check-up services, the delivery process, and post-natal care, supported by specialist doctors, professional midwives, and complete facilities.
The ‘Mother’s Friend’ program from Siloam International Hospitals provides 24/7 special midwife assistance to provide psychological and emotional support to pregnant women from the preparation period to postpartum with four main advantages. First, the assistance of an experienced midwife who welcomes patients during hospital visits and becomes a trusted friend. Second, consultation 24 hours a day (24/7) via WhatsApp with fast responses to answer various patient questions. Third, a personal smart system, supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technology to provide education and information according to gestational age as well as examination schedule reminders. Fourth, proactive monitoring through automatic notifications if patients miss scheduled visits.
Siloam’s initiative through the ‘Mother’s Friends’ Program is in line with the government’s efforts to reduce maternal mortality. Based on data from the Ministry of Health, the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia in 2024 will be 4,150 cases. Even though it has decreased compared to 2023, which was 4,482 cases, this figure is still higher than ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand and Vietnam. The Indonesian government continues to strive to reduce the maternal mortality rate so that it meets the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target of less than 70 deaths per 100,000 live births.
“Siloam International Hospitals continues to be committed to supporting government programs in reducing maternal mortality. All Siloam hospitals now have a focus on maternal and child services, ensuring that every mother gets the best care. In the momentum towards Mother’s Day, Siloam is presenting the ‘Mother’s Friend’ Program—a comprehensive service for pregnant women, from pregnancy checks to postpartum care that is safe, comfortable, and accompanied at every stage. This commitment is realized through a combination of medical excellence, a warm touch, and the use of AI technology for 24/7 real-time consultation and assistance. With “The hospital network is spread from city centers such as Jakarta to remote areas such as Ambon, patients still receive the same services.” said Siloam International Hospitals CEO Caroline Riady, Monday (15/12/2025).
Services for pregnant women at Siloam are integrated into the Premium Maternity Program which includes 24/7 assistance through the ‘Mother’s Friend’ Program, pregnancy check-up packages, and premium delivery packages. The pregnancy check-up package includes complete monitoring from the first trimester until delivery with three options (Basic, Essential, Premium) complete with a vitamin package. This program also offers a one-stop solution so that patients do not need to move, including the implementation of standard ANC guidelines and updating the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) book.
For the premium delivery package, pregnant women will receive comprehensive services, from hospitalization to post-discharge, more than 12 consultations with specialist doctors, medicines, laboratory tests for mother and baby, labor with minimal pain (ERACS or ILA) which supports faster mobilization, as well as complete operating room facilities. This package also includes newborn screening, baby vaccines, lactation management, baby care training, skin care for mothers and babies, pregnancy corsets, baby diapers and diaper bags, baby photo sessions, birth videos, romantic dinners, and cream bath and massage services at the hospital to increase the mother’s comfort and relaxation after giving birth.
Siloam International Hospitals believes that comfort during pregnancy starts with knowledge, including understanding the signs of high risk to reduce worry. In addition, no mother should go through pregnancy alone. Therefore, Siloam provides 24/7 assistance, both in Jakarta and in other cities.
