Pelindo Dumai Peduli: A Form of Social Concern for Residents Around the Port

Dumai, November 2025 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 1 Dumai Branch collaborates with PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) Dumai Branch through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program to once again strengthen its commitment to bringing real benefits to the people of Dumai.

This activity, which will last for three days, from 26 to 28 November 2025, is designed to help the community’s basic needs while also paying attention to health aspects, as part of Pelindo’s concern in supporting improving the quality of life of residents.

The basic food packages distributed included 5 kg of rice, 1 liter of cooking oil and 1 kg of granulated sugar. This assistance was distributed to a total of 300 residents in Buluh Kasap Village, Dumai Kota Village, and Laksamana Village.

As a form of support in the health sector, basic health checks and distribution of vitamins to the community were also held. It is hoped that this program can help residents maintain their health condition and increase awareness of the importance of routine health checks.

Executive General Manager of Pelindo Dumai, Jonatan Ginting, said that Pelindo is committed to continuing to be present and providing benefits to the community.

“The Pelindo Dumai Peduli program is a form of our commitment to always be present in the community, especially for people who live around the port area. We understand that the existence of a port must provide real benefits, through this Pelindo Dumai Peduli program it is hoped that it can help alleviate the needs of the community and improve the quality of life of the community,” said Jonatan.

In line with this, Pelindo Multi Terminal Dumai Branch Manager, Teddi Fadillah, added that port operations are expected to provide added value to the surrounding social environment.

“We believe that the growth of port operations must be in line with improving community welfare. The community is an important partner for the company, of course we are committed to strengthening harmonious and mutually supportive relationships with communities around the port,” explained Teddi.

Buluh Kasap Village Head, Suyono appreciated and expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the Pelindo Dumai Peduli program. “Hopefully in the future this program can be implemented sustainably and can always be in synergy,” said Suyono.

Through this series of social activities, Pelindo is committed to continuing to provide a positive impact on community welfare and strengthening harmonious relations between the company and the surrounding environment.
