KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta Inaugurates Clean Water Tank for Gunungkidul Community Through TJSL Program

As a form of KAI’s concern and commitment to social development and environmental sustainability, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 6 Yogyakarta together with Lazismu Mantrijeron distributed Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) assistance in the form of a Community Development Program worth IDR 60,000,000 to two areas in Gunungkidul Regency, namely Sampang Village, Kapanewon Gedangsari, and Sidoharjo Village, Kapanewon Tepus.

KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta provided two permanent water tank units, each with a capacity of 25,000 liters, which were placed in two village locations. KAI hopes that this facility can be a sustainable solution in meeting the clean water needs of local communities, especially in the Gunungkidul area.

Feni Novida Saragih, Public Relations Manager for Daop 6 said, “This clean water reservoir is not just a new facility, but is a very meaningful source of life for the residents. We hope that the existence of this reservoir will bring great benefits and help smooth the need for water in the daily activities of the Gedangsari and Tepus people,” he said.

The event for the handover and inauguration of the water tank was also attended by EVP Daop 6 Yogyakarta, Bambang Respationo and staff, as well as Acting Head of the Lazismu Mantrijeron Office Suhaibun Febrianto, SE, Panewu Tepus, Tepus Police, Tepus Koramil, and residents of Sidoharjo Village.

Feni further explained that this program is part of KAI’s commitment to be present and provide real benefits to the communities around its operational areas. “The delivery of this permanent water reservoir is a form of KAI’s social and environmental responsibility. We continue to strive to build a dynamic, collaborative and synergistic relationship with the community. This achievement cannot be separated from the support of all parties who have contributed to the reservoir construction process,” he said.

KAI hopes that the inauguration of this clean water tank can improve the quality of life of the people in Gedangsari and Tepus and support the sustainability of social programs in the Gunungkidul area.
