First Day of Isra Miraj Long Holiday, More than 37 Thousand Passengers Leave Jakarta by Train

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 1 Jakarta recorded high community mobility on the first day of the Isra Miraj long holiday, Wednesday (15/1). Today, 37,075 customers were registered to depart by train, while 21,244 passengers arrived and got off at the Daop 1 Jakarta area station.

Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, said that today, January 15 2026, a number of main stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta area recorded a significant volume of departures. Pasar Senen Station recorded the highest number of departing passengers, namely 14,667 customers, followed by Gambir Station with 14,337 customers, Bekasi Station with 3,840 customers, and Jatinegara Station with 2,223 customers.

Franoto added that trains are still the public’s preferred mode of transportation during the long holiday period.

“On the first day of the Isra Miraj long holiday, the volume of passengers departing from the Daop 1 Jakarta area was observed to be quite high, especially from main stations such as Pasar Senen and Gambir,” said Franoto.

He added, to this day there are still 2,905 departure tickets available from the Daop 1 Jakarta area. However, this number is expected to continue to decrease in line with high public interest and the ease of ordering tickets online via the Access by KAI application or other official KAI ticket sales partners.

The customers’ favorite destination cities during this long holiday period include Yogyakarta with around 18 thousand passengers, Semarang with 7,500 passengers, Bandung with 5,800 passengers, Surabaya with 5,200 passengers, and Purwokerto with 5,000 passengers.

During the period 15–18 January 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provides a total of 158,959 seats, with 88,106 tickets sold to date. Meanwhile, tickets for departures on January 16–18 are still available for 67,968 seats, with an occupancy rate of 68 percent on January 16, 26 percent on January 17 and 35 percent on January 18.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta reminds the public that the opportunity to vacation by train is still open because there are still enough tickets available for several departure dates. Customers are expected to confirm the departure schedule stated on the ticket, as well as arrange the travel time to the station well, considering the weather conditions which often rain, so that the trip can be safe, smooth and comfortable.
