40th TEI Officially Opens, Presenting Unlimited Advantages of Indonesian Products

Minister of Trade Budi Santoso together with Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan officially opened the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten on Wednesday (15/10). This annual international event organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia carries the theme “Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries”.

In his speech, Coordinating Minister Zulhas, representing President Prabowo Subianto, said that government policy regarding trade was on the right track. This is proven by Indonesia’s foreign trade performance which continues to grow positively.

“As of this month, the value of national exports grew by more than 7 percent compared to last year, with the trade surplus increasing to USD 29 billion dollars. This is an extraordinary achievement resulting from the hard work of all parties. Through a spirit of cooperation and optimism, Indonesia will continue to strengthen its position as an economic power that is highly competitive in the world market,” said Coordinating Minister Zulhas.

Meanwhile, the Busan Trade Minister said in his report that TEI 2025 was attended by 1,619 participants with 8,045 registered buyers from 130 countries. This exhibition is divided into three main zones, namely food and agricultural products, manufactured products, and services and lifestyle, with a transaction target of reaching USD 16.5 billion.

“TEI is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the President’s Asta Cita in strengthening national downstreaming and industrialization, as well as expanding Indonesia’s role in the global supply chain towards a Golden Indonesia,” said the Busan Trade Minister.

The Busan Trade Minister said, apart from the exhibition, the 40th TEI also presented a series of supporting activities such as exploring business cooperation (business matching), business consultation (business counseling), and various business forums.

The 40th TEI, he continued, was synergized with the Nusa Food Exhibition which took place at Hall 9 ICE BSD City. The Nusa Food Exhibition is an event to promote Indonesia’s culinary riches and food potential, featuring a variety of superior products from various regions. “This exhibition also serves as a showcase for national culinary entrepreneurs to show the quality of their products and opens up opportunities for cooperation and access to the global culinary market,” added the Busan Trade Minister.

The Busan Minister of Trade also expressed his appreciation and thanks for the cooperation and support of all parties. Appreciation is given to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian Representatives in partner countries, representatives of friendly countries in Indonesia, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of friendly countries who have played an active role in attracting foreign buyers and expanding Indonesia’s trade network at the global level.

Appreciation was also given to the main sponsors, namely Bank Mandiri, Pertamina, and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), for their support and participation in making the 40th TEI a success. Thanks are also expressed to all Ministries and Institutions, Regional Governments, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the private sector, as well as PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti as the organizer who has made a real contribution in supporting the smoothness and success of this event.

“Through the spirit of cooperation and optimism that we build together, I am sure that Indonesia will continue to strengthen its position as an economic power that is highly competitive in the world market for the sake of the nation’s welfare and the prosperity of the global community,” added the Busan Trade Minister.

During the opening, the Busan Trade Minister also handed over the Primaniyarta Award to the best exporters as well as regional heads who continue to increase the value of their exports, increasing brand awareness globally. Awards were also given to exporters who pioneered new markets who provided inspiration for Indonesian exporters.

The Minister of Trade in Busan also gave the Primaduta Award to loyal buyers, Indonesian export partners. This award was also given to the Head of Indonesian Representatives abroad for his efforts in encouraging an increase in Indonesia’s non-oil and gas exports.

Also present at the opening of the 14th TEI were Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, Governor of Banten Andra Soni, and General Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie.

Apart from that, there were Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste Francisco Kalbuady Lay, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Yemen Salem Mohamed Ahmed Salman, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones of Egypt Hossam Heiba, Indonesian ambassadors to friendly countries, as well as a number of ambassadors from friendly countries.
