Telkom AI Center of Excellence Encourages Unand Students to Master AI

Telkom AI Center of Excellence Padang (Telkom AI Center Padang) through the AI ​​Connect pillar successfully held the seminar “AI Talks: From Campus to Future Career – Success in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” with Communication Science students from Andalas University, Tuesday (26/11). This event is a place for discussion about the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world of work, especially in the communications and creative industries.

The seminar was opened by the Chair of the Public Relations Concentration in Communication Studies at Andalas University, Revi Martha, who emphasized the importance of the young generation’s readiness to face the rapid development of technology. “Communication students need to see AI not just as technology, but as a strategy in communication and public relations practice,” he said in his speech.

This activity was attended by around 60 students with high enthusiasm. The discussion was interactive, discussing career opportunities, ethical challenges, and the digital skills needed to be able to compete in the AI ​​era. Several Communication Science lecturers were also present, enriching academic perspectives in the question and answer session.

Simultaneously with this activity, Mizan Lazuardi, Telkom AI Connect Program Lead, emphasized that AI will become an inseparable part of the professional world. “We want students to understand from an early age that AI is not just a trend, but a new foundation for the way we work. Equipped with strong digital literacy, they can become relevant talents and be ready to compete in the global market,” he explained.

Telkom AI Center Padang also introduced the use of AI in various fields, from communication data analysis to application in digital campaigns. The material presented is expected to open students’ insight into the transformation of the world of work and the urgency of adapting to technology. “AI can help communication students understand the audience more quickly, design the right strategy, and increase the effectiveness of messages,” added Mizan.

This activity is proof of Telkom’s commitment to supporting the development of young talents and building an AI ecosystem in the West Sumatra academic environment. With activities like this, students not only gain knowledge, but also motivation to prepare themselves to face an increasingly digital future.
