KAI Logistics through the KALOG Pro service, especially in the Project Logistics segment, is currently handling a planned relocation in the form of moving and arranging 40 units of Afkir Electric Rail Trains (KRL) or which are no longer operating from the Depok KRL Depot to TPSSK Pasirbungur. This handling confirms KAI Logistics’ ability to manage special transportation for heavy and large-dimensional goods according to strict safety standards.
Each KRL unit weighs between 25 and 30 tons with a variety of different types, making this work have a high level of complexity. This relocation project has started on November 4 2025 and is planned to be completed in 45 days, namely on December 15 2025. The entire series of activities begins with a Joint Inspection to ensure the readiness of the facilities before departing for the Pasirbungur TPSSK.
KAI Logistik’s Western Region Manager, Yudy Armand Arief, said that this project was the second assignment to relocate KRL that was handled by KAI Logistik in the Western Region throughout 2025. “Previously, in April 2025, KAI Logistik had also completed the work of unspooring 55 discarded KRL units. The trust given to KAI Logistik again reflects our capability in handling heavy cargo, especially to support the logistics needs of railway facilities. Handling the relocation of KAI Logistics “This rejection shows our consistency in maintaining service quality,” said Yudy.
In the field, the KAI Logistics team also faced the challenge of unpredictable weather, but an adaptive operational strategy enabled the transfer process to continue according to plan. As a Multimodal Transport Business Entity (BUAM), KAI Logistics combines transportation schemes according to project needs.
In moving activities, KAI Logistics uses a number of heavy equipment in the form of cranes and forklifts that have passed the KEMENAKER certification, proven by a valid Operational Eligibility Certificate. Crane and forklift operators also have a valid Operator’s License, so that lifting and moving activities can be carried out safely and comply with all work safety requirements.
Yudy added that handling this project is in line with KAI Logistik’s spirit of providing logistics solutions that are reliable and responsive to customer needs. “We make every challenge an opportunity to prove our tagline, that with KAI Logistics, everything is possible. This is the spirit that we continue to carry in every service, including the railway facility relocation project which demands high accuracy, competence and readiness in the field,” concluded Yudy.
