Pelindo Multi Terminal Supports the Realization of 19 Million Jobs through the Ministry of Manpower’s Internship Program

PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) which manages non-container terminals, emphasized its commitment to supporting the government’s steps to create 19 million new jobs through implementing an internship program that provides real work experience for Indonesia’s young generation. This commitment was realized through the implementation of the Ministry of Manpower Batch 2 National Apprenticeship Induction which was held on Monday (24/11).

The induction activity took place at the Pelindo Multi Terminal Head Office in Medan and was attended by 46 interns from various universities throughout Indonesia to get to know firsthand the world of work in the dynamic and strategic port industry.

Through this induction session, participants were introduced to the company profile, non-container terminal industry business processes, work culture, and the company’s strategic role in supporting the national logistics chain. Apart from that, training is also provided regarding rights, obligations, ethics and rules during the internship, so that all participants are ready to undertake the program professionally and responsibly.

Pelindo Multi Terminal HR Director, Edi Priyanto, emphasized that this internship program is not only fulfilling administrative or formality needs, but is a valuable opportunity for the younger generation to gain real experience in the world of work.

“This internship opportunity is an important start in the professional journey of the participants. Not everyone gets an opportunity like this because the selection process is strict, so this opportunity needs to be utilized as best as possible. In an era that continues to change, direct experience in the world of work will shape character, adaptability and professionalism that cannot be obtained only from campus theory,” said Edi.

Through this series of internship programs, Pelindo Multi Terminal shows its continued commitment to supporting the development of young talents and preparing a generation of professionals who are ready to work in the maritime and logistics sector—an industry that continues to grow and plays an important role in national connectivity.
