Jakarta, 13 October 2025 – PT PP (Persero) Tbk (“PTPP”), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, reiterates its role in the development of national strategic infrastructure through the completion of the Kamal–Teluk Naga–Rajeg (Kataraja) Toll Road Section 1, which is now officially open to the public starting 9 October 2025 and free until 20 October 2025.
Kataraja Section 1 Toll Road is the main link between Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area, a modern independent city developed by the Agung Sedayu Group on the north coast of Jakarta. The presence of this toll road is expected to facilitate community mobility, speed up logistics distribution, and open new economic access in the North Tangerang area, especially Kosambi, Teluknaga and Rajeg.
The Kataraja Toll Road or Gate 1 of the PIK 2 Toll Road was opened to support the implementation Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Exhibition (WITF) 2025. This line operates functionally without fares from 9 to 20 October 2025 at 06.00–22.00 WIB. Vehicle users from Soekarno–Hatta International Airport to PIK 2 only need to pay the Sedyatmo Toll, while access from PIK 2 to Jakarta (Inner City Toll and JORR) is also free for the Kataraja/Gate 1 PIK 2 Toll.
Company Secretary PTPP, Joko Raharjo, said that the opening of this toll road was an important moment in strengthening national connectivity. “The opening of the Kataraja Section 1 Toll Road is a new milestone in the development of the road network connecting the airport with strategic economic areas in the north of Jakarta. We are proud because the completion of this toll road can expand connectivity to various tourist destinations, increase economic productivity, and can now be enjoyed by the public for free during the trial period, from 9 to 20 October 2025,” he said.
Kataraja Toll Road Section 1 is directly connected to the Prof. Toll Road. Dr. Sedyatmo in North Jakarta and is the initial part of the Kataraja to Rajeg toll road network which will later be connected to the Serbaraja (Serpong–Balaraja) toll road. This route will be a new alternative for reducing congestion in the western Jabodetabek corridor, especially the Jakarta-Merak section, while strengthening supply chains and logistics efficiency across provinces.
In the construction process, PTPP implements Traveler Balance Cantilever Method for three special bridges, including the Bridge Junction Sedyatmo which passes over the Prof. Toll Road. Dr. Sedyatmo—one of the busiest sections in Indonesia. This method allows construction work to take place without disrupting traffic below and speeds up project completion time.
Apart from that, PTPP implements innovation value engineering on segmentation box girder to increase design efficiency, strengthen structures, and maintain work safety in areas with heavy aviation and transportation activities. This confirms PTPP’s technical capability and commitment to quality, innovation and project sustainability.
More than just transportation infrastructure, the presence of the Kataraja Toll Road also expands connectivity to various coastal tourist destinations such as Tanjung Pasir, PIK 2, and the islands in Jakarta Bay, while increasing economic potential and property values in the North Tangerang coastal area. This project is in line with the Asta Cita of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, especially in realizing equitable development, increasing productivity, and inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.
