PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (“SPSL”), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) which manages integrated services in port and hinterland development areas, participated in The 4th Seminar on Indonesia Economic Outlook (IEO) 2026 organized by Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta (7/10).
This annual activity, which lasts for three days, is a strategic forum to explain cross-sector economic developments as well as national economic projections for the coming year. This year, IEO presented more than 150 participants from various industry groups, academics and government institutions.
Based on Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) data, the transportation and warehousing sector is projected to contribute to Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) of IDR 1,500.28 trillion by the end of 2025, and increase to IDR 1,703.21 trillion in 2026, growing respectively by 9.03 percent and 9.31 percent (c-to-c).
National Logistics Transformation Based on Efficiency and Digitalization
In this forum, SPSL Main Director Joko Noerhudha was present as a resource person on the topic “The Role of Port Logistics in Encouraging Increased National Logistics Efficiency.” In his presentation, he highlighted various global challenges affecting international supply chains, ranging from the crisis in the Red Sea, increasing geopolitical tensions, to congestion at a number of world ports.
In responding to global challenges and creating supply chain efficiency, the Main Director of SPSL said that Ports must evolve, especially the Port system, to become an intermodal transport oriented towards a Supply-Chain Integrated Port. Considering that ports play an important role in the supply chain, especially in Indonesia, where 90% of exports and imports are via sea. Thus, national logistics efficiency can be achieved.
“The transformation of the national transportation and distribution sector must be oriented towards efficiency and integration. SPSL plays a role in strengthening port connectivity with industrial areas and hinterlands through digitalization and standardization of services. The aim is to provide a transportation and distribution system that is reliable, efficient and globally competitive,” he said.
Because of this, as part of the Pelindo Group, SPSL plays a strategic role in encouraging the efficiency of national transportation and distribution processes through integration initiatives between ports and industrial areas in order to create an integrated ecosystem which then has an impact on logistics cost efficiency. Apart from this, SPSL also adopts the application of technology to support the orchestration of logistics services.
These steps strengthen the transparency and effectiveness of the national supply chain, as well as being part of SPSL’s commitment to providing integrated and sustainable transportation and distribution solutions to encourage increased national logistics efficiency.
Cross-Sector Collaboration for National Economic Resilience
Also attending the first day of the seminar were CEO of Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) Setijadi, World Bank Transport Specialist Hafida Fahmiasari, Director of The National Maritime Institute (Namarin) Siswanto Rusdi, Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Main Expert Planner of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Taufik Hanafi, GAPMMI Technical Regulations Committee Yunawati Gandasasmita, as well as Sales & Marketing Division Head JBA Indonesia Johan Wijaya.
CEO of Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) Setijadi explained that this annual forum aims to provide a comprehensive review of national economic conditions, as well as reviewing challenges and opportunities amidst global dynamics.
“This event is an annual event, about reviewing the economy over the past year and looking at projections for the following year. The difference is that currently there are geo-political conflicts which will definitely affect the economy. Including the logistics sector, in this case the global flow of goods. That’s why, on the first day we invited speakers to convey various things related to macro developments,” he said.
Closing the session, Joko Noerhudha emphasized the importance of collaboration between ports, transportation and distribution players, and industry to build a supply chain ecosystem that is connected and adaptive to global challenges.
“Through synergy between sectors, Indonesia can strengthen national transportation and distribution resilience and contribute to creating a resilient and sustainable regional supply chain,” concluded Joko Noerhudha.
