Extreme Weather and Floods Disturb Trains, Sragi–Pekalongan Route Returns to Normal

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 7 Madiun expresses its deepest apologies to all customers for the disruption of train travel due to the extreme weather and high rainfall that hit a number of areas on the island of Java. This condition causes waterlogging on the Sragi – Pekalongan road which has an impact on the smooth operation of train travel.

“These extreme weather conditions require special operational handling and arrangements to maintain the safety of train travel. KAI has implemented operational pattern engineering,” said KAI Daop 7 Madiun Public Relations Manager, Tohari.

Sragi – Pekalongan Route Recovery Update

Tohari explained that as of 01.30 WIB, the puddles on the Sragi – Pekalongan road had been successfully handled by removing material and normalizing the route. All subsequent train journeys can now travel via upstream or downstream routes, using the service locomotives of each train.

“Starting at 05.10 WIB, the Sragi – Pekalongan route can be passed with a maximum speed limitation of 30 km/hour, while intensive monitoring continues to be carried out by officers in the field,” he added.
