Eid Transport 2026 Getting Closer, KAI Daop 4 Reminds Safety at Level Crossings

KAI Daop 4 Semarang together with the Police, Transportation Department and also the Train Lovers Community carried out socialization at crossing No. 102, Jl. KH Mas Mansyur, Pekalongan City, Central Java on Wednesday (4/2).

This safety outreach is routinely carried out by KAI Daop 4 Semarang and is increasingly being intensified ahead of the 2026 Eid transport period, in line with the increase in the frequency of train trips to serve the surge in community mobility.

KAI Daop 4 Semarang Public Relations Manager Luqman Arif said that this activity was carried out together with the Pekalongan City Transportation Agency, Police, TNI and the Railway Lovers Community as an effort to increase public awareness and discipline in traffic, especially at level crossings.

“We invite stakeholders such as those from the Transportation Agency, Police, TNI, and the Railway Lovers Community so that road users are more aware of safety at level crossings. This outreach is carried out through various activities, including direct education to the public as well as putting up banners, posters, and distributing stickers containing safety messages and warning signs,” said Luqman.

Luqman said that outreach activities like this would continue to be carried out in all Daop 4 areas in turn. Both at level crossings, schools and nearby residents whose daily activities pass through the railway line.

Level crossings are one of the points prone to accidents if road users do not comply with applicable safety rules.

The safety of train travel and road users is a shared responsibility. Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways has regulated that train travel has top priority at level crossings.

“We invite all people to start stopping when the signal (siren/light) sounds, the door bar starts to close, or the officer gives a signal. Then don’t break through the door bar, and stop for a moment before passing. Make sure to always obey traffic signs because our collective awareness and discipline will really help create a safe, secure and smooth train journey,” said Luqman.

KAI Daop 4 Semarang will continue to strive to take preventive steps to minimize the potential for accidents at level crossings, especially ahead of and during the 2026 Eid transport period. These efforts are carried out through continuous outreach, cross-agency collaboration, as well as strengthening safety education to the public.

“We will continue to make various efforts as a reminder for us all. However, safety also requires an active role from road users to always comply with applicable regulations, so that mutual safety can be created,” concluded Luqman.
